Mar 29, 2016: Visit to Smart, Effect, and VTEC (Eindhoven)
The student board is very pleased to invite you to a company visit. This time IEEE students working in photonics are visiting three young and quickly developing companies in Eindhoven region, SMART Photonics, EFFECT Photonics and VTEC Lasers & Sensors.
About Smart Photonics
SMART Photonics B.V., located in Eindhoven, is a pure-play foundry for InP photonics semiconductors. It offers its customers an expert team with a long history and a proven track record in InP R&D and production. SMART Photonics offers a generic process developed in collaboration with the COBRA research institute. It allows for fast prototyping and low cost development without compromising performance and functionality. SMART Photonics is the worlds first foundry to commercially offer MPW services on InP.
About EFFECT Photonics
As a spin out of the prestigious Technical University of Eindhoven, EFFECT Photonics takes a platform approach to integration using high-yielding building blocks within the wafer.
The company develops and delivers highly integrated optical products based on InP (Indium Phosphide) which is the material of choice for creating efficient laser light sources, waveguides, modulators, and photodiodes used in optical communication systems throughout the world.
About VTEC Lasers & Sensors
VTEC was founded in 2011 with a strategy to develop, produce and supply semiconductors laser diodes, modules and sensor to the market with a vision to supply the customer with the best laser for their application and support them with a very fast response.
