Marc Wuilpart received the degree of Electrical Engineering from the Faculté Polytechnique de Mons, Mons, Belgium in 1999 and the PhD degree in Applied Science from the same faculty in 2003. He is currently professor at the University of Mons.
His research activities concern optical fibre metrology for telecommunications and sensing applications. In particular, he is interested in distributed measurement systems and in the characterization of polarization effects. His research activities lead him to be author and co-author of 4 book chapters, 53 journal papers, 144 conference papers and 4 patent applications. He is currently the chairman of the IEEE Photonics Society Benelux Chapter.
